About the style: Inspired by an original vintage blouse, Anna is all about the detail. Gentle puff sleeves, buttoned cuffs (Corozo, of course), tucks at the yoke and a little neck ribbon made in matching fabric. Made by Satnam and his team in our little London factory.
Please note, Anna does not have a top button - the necktie does the job for this.
About the Print: Hedgerows are good places to look for sloes from September to November. When ripe, sloes are plump and dark-skinned with no traces of green. Sloe berries grow on blackthorn, a spiny tree or bush in the rose family. The latin name for Blackthorn is Prunus Spinosa. Sloes are often sought after in autumn to make warming country wine or gin.
The small tree or shrub also has a firm place in folk history and medicine in the British Isles. Sloes were used as remedies for coughs and colds because of their astringency. The peeled bark boiled in water was a gypsy remedy for bronchitis.
About the Fabric: We continue to use the ethical superhero fabric, Tencel™, for many of our clothes. Tencel™ is made from the pulp of Eucalyptus trees. It has the feel of vintage rayon - beautifully floaty and drapey, it washes really well and is biodegradable. It’s the most environmentally responsible fabric that we have come across and we love the look it gives to our dresses.
