Dispatch No 11 – Amwell St.
Join us as Bryony introduces us to Palava’s new home on Amwell Street, just a short walk from King’s Cross and close to the new Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration.
Moving to a new space is always a turning point. This shop has a different feel, with high ceilings and more room to welcome people in. For Bryony, it creates the opportunity to think beyond the traditional shop floor: to host workshops, share ideas and invite more people into the process behind the clothes we make.
As we continue working towards a more sustainable and circular way of doing things, the space will help us bring that journey closer to our customers. It gives us somewhere to talk about how our clothes are made, why fit and longevity matter, and how we can move further away from a disposable approach to fashion.
For us, sustainability is not only about the materials we use or the way our clothes are produced. It is also about making garments that people feel good in, want to wear often and can keep for a long time. The better a piece fits and the more it becomes part of someone’s life, the less likely it is to be treated as disposable.
The new shop is another step in that direction: a space to make, learn, share and build a different kind of relationship with clothing.
We’re only just beginning to discover what our new home can become.
But we’ll keep sharing the journey as we go.
