Dispatch no 6 - The Hidden Work of Wool
In this dispatch, Bryony follows the journey of her wool to the scouring plant — the place where raw fleece is washed, cleaned, and prepared for its next life.

It’s a process most of us never see. Hidden behind finished garments, these early stages of production are often invisible, leaving us disconnected from the true work, resources, and care that go into what we wear.

As Bryony walks through the scouring process, she reflects on that disconnect — and why it matters. In a world of global supply chains and synthetic fibres, wool stands apart as the last fibre we can still produce entirely within a local system.
This film is an invitation to look closer: at materials, at locality, at making, and at the stories embedded in the things we wear.
