About the Style :

Philippa is the ultimate comfort dress. She is cool and breezy, with an unstructured waist that gives her a slightly oversize feel. If you prefer a closer fit at the waist, her waist belt can be pulled in for a custom fit.

Philippa is slightly longer in length than our other dresses. Her ¾ length sleeves can be turned back, creating a cuff. Tiny knife pleats run around her waist and, of course, she has classic Palava deep pockets.

About the Print:

This print was designed by Ingebjørg Hunskaar: " The artwork was produced by painting with water colour paints and Indian ink. Imagining a paradise garden where fantastical plants and endangered animals live in symbiosis."

"I am a freelance Textile designer.  I am interested in botanical illustrations,  geometric pattern, shape configuration, colour and space. My designs draw inspiration from nature and the traditional craft of my native country Norway as well as African and Japanese patterns. My finished work is often a product of a combination of spontaneous, subconscious, repetitive drawing and a conscious design development process."

About the Fabric :

Our linen-cotton blend gets the best of both worlds - the cool, summery feel of linen with a softer less crinkly finish. The texture and weight however gives our dresses a beautiful structure and shape. This custom cloth is woven and printed for us in Turkey, where we are proud to have visited the weavers and the growers. Please note, a slight slubbing can occur on linen. This is part of its charm and gives the cloth its coveted vintage feel. Do not pick or snip at the slubs! They are part of the fabrics character and intrinsic to its structure.
