Restore and upholster a footstool of a dining chair.

Come join us for a day learning how to spruce up a tired piece of furniture you can't part with, but also know needs your help. This course is perfect for dipping your toe into the upholstery world, whether it's because you want to save a piece or learn a new skill, it's a great opportunity to forget the outside word for a day and immerse yourself in making.

We let you loose in the Palava basement to rummage through the archives, remnants and sample pieces to find the perfect fabric for you.

What you will need: A piece of furniture that is looking sad and in need of attention. If you don't have one, it's the perfect excuse for a junk shop visit! Remember this is a day course, so we ask you to bring only a stool, a kitchen chair with a removable seat, or a small project. You will need to send us a photo of your project to Freya@palava.co to check it is suitable and to talk over the challenges (you can do this before you book or anytime up to a week before the course).

About Your Teacher: Freya Morton is a talented upholsterer as well as a trained teacher. Freay works from her studio in Stockport, where she creates bespoke upholstered pieces for clients as well as pieces for Palava. She is an expert in her field with a wealth of knowledge and also in sustainable upholstery, a rarity amongst the trade. Follow her work @mortonfreya
