Meet the Palavian: Mariesa Dulak

Meet Mariesa.

Children’s author, storyteller, and long-time Palava wearer.

Mariesa first found us when she was looking for a dress for her book launch last year. Her story was set under the sea, and she left in our Natural History Museum print, ready for the occasion.

Since then, she’s been busy writing her next book, The Ice Cream Crocodile, illustrated by the amazing Rebecca Cobb, a wonderfully playful, summery story about Elvis the crocodile and his dream of becoming a circus star.

And it felt like a bit of fate that this time round, her story sits so closely alongside our own, with circus scenes, ice cream, and all the joy of summer running through both.

She came back to visit us in the shop to share a little snippet, and it felt like a very lovely full-circle moment.
